Classic 1971 J3 Bedford Bus

Here is an iconic piece of Kiwi culture that is in particularly good, original condition. She is not perfect but has gone straight through a COF this week, is Registered until November and is up to date with RUC. Hubometer reads 2234437 Odometer reads 2554903 All work on the vehicle is certified including the 6DR 3.9l Mitsubishi Diesel with 5 speed that was installed by Leopard Coachlines who operated her as a school bus for many years in Canterbury. The owners, previous to us, stored her inside for 15 years and she has lived with us since 2023 in a purpose built shed. She is a blank canvas awaiting someone to take her over. She was intended to be made into our home, however some unforeseen health issues have meant that time is now of the essence. I purchased the vehicle site unseen having looked for a long time for a quality version of these vehicles. I was not disappointed and enjoyed every second of driving her back from Christchurch where she lived to Ruakaka where I live without a hitch. She travels comfortably at 90 km/p/hr. She also has brand new rear brake drums and shoes. The bus is in very good for her age, however not without blemish, so you are invited to come and look her over if you are keen. You are also welcome to call, although there is little to tell you that isn’t relayed here. The reserve is considerably less than we paid for her. I will genuinely miss owning and driving her.
