Description
1962 Bedford SB3 Bus
We had such fun in this bus and travelled the length of the country. Sadly, due to the passing of my partner, it’s time for this wonderful home-on-wheels to find a new owner who will love it as much as we have.
I am currently based in Nelson, while the bus is safely tucked away in Waimate. Because of this, viewings will need to be arranged in advance—I’m happy to chat and find a time that works for us both.

Mechanical Summary
The vehicle has been extensively mechanically refurbished. A reconditioned Isuzu 6BD1 diesel engine has been professionally fitted along with a new radiator.
Installation included repair and refit of the intake manifold, modification and refit of the exhaust manifold and injector pump, and transfer of ancillary components including the air compressor, alternator, power steering pump, and fuel system.
The flywheel was machined and fitted with a new clutch plate, spigot bearing, and release
bearing. The engine was filled with fresh oil and coolant, started, run, and checked for correct operation and leaks.
The rear differential housing was replaced and the rear driveline rebuilt. Rear brakes were fully overhauled, including replacement of brake drums and shoes, bearing replacement, seal renewal, brake adjustment, and system bleeding. All work was tested and road-checked to confirm correct
operation. Front brakes also replaced.
This is more than just a vehicle; it’s a lifestyle ready to go. If you're looking for a sturdy, well-loved Bedford to start your own New Zealand adventures, I’d love to hear from you!
