Double decker family delight
Description
A delightful home away from home, ideal for the family wanting to live on the road, or a couple who want some serious space.

Isabeast has been a part of our lives for nearly 20 years. In that time, she has travelled the length and breadth of New Zealand, notching up 100000km. We've had many memorable journeys in the beast, but we are now at an age where it's sadly time to let somebody else enjoy her.

This is a one of a kind motorhome. With 2 bedrooms upstairs, the downstairs generously offers a fixed lounge with television (inbuilt DVD player for anybody who still has them!), bathroom, and kitchen/dining room. A true tiny home on wheels.

The running gear is a 1996 Isuzu FRR, with a 210hp 6 cylinder diesel engine and 6 speed gearbox. Driving is remarkably easy, with air assisted clutch, brakes, and gearshift, plus power steering and a large screen with 2 separate rear cameras. The motor was completely rebuilt about 70,000km ago (2010). Note that although the speedo shows 250,000 km, this is almost certainly 1,250,000 given that the truck was a long-haul vehicle in Japan. Total weight of the beast is just over 9 tonnes. There is no connection between cab and motorhome.

All windows are fitted with concertina style thermal blinds, and there are roll down insect screens on all opening windows.

House power is provided by way of 220 Ah batteries, supplemented by a 500W solar panel. There is no mains power, other than built in battery chargers, which means that an electrical warrant of fitness is not required.

Heating is via a Webasto 3.5kW diesel heater. Hot water via a Camec 22.7litre gas water heater. Fridge/freezer is a Dometic RMD8555. Cooking is a Caprice 2040 gas cooker with 4 hobs, grill and oven. 2 x 9kg LPG bottles (one in use and one spare) are housed under the stairs (accessed from outside).

There are generous side lockers at the rear, and a large rear boot capable of storing 2 mountain bikes.

There are two stabiliser legs at the rear, plus 4 ferry hooks and a 3500kg rated towbar.
